She scored two goals and eight games in her account and helped the magicJack to an impressive third-place finish in league competition that year. The magicJack ended up dissolving in late 2011, and the WPS was dissolved in early 2012. Rapinoe began performing in the Australian W-League with Sydney Football Club FC after which she returned into her home in the United States. The next team she joined was Seattle Washington Sounders Women. They are now they are the Sound FC. Rapinoe's 2013 season was spent training in France. She then joined in the Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL created after the WPS broke up. In 2016 she competed at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Her U.S. squad was eliminated from the event in Rio. Rapinoe's debut at the FIFA Women's World Cup took place in the year 2011. She was instrumental in leading in the U.S. Women's World Cup team to consecutive victories in 2015. She was named cocaptain in the year 2018. At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo Japan was delayed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic Rapinoe had two goals in the bronze medal match as she helped the United States defeated Australia by the four-to-3 score.
